Grants for Beauty Professionals

Support Creatives is thrilled to offer our Grants for Beauty Professionals Program. Financial Assistance for Beauty Industry Creatives to support their artistic endeavors, so that practical financial needs don’t get in the way of their artistic pursuits in times of difficult circumstances.

Philanthropic Eligibility Requirements

Please read the eligibility requirements thoroughly. Only applications with supporting documents will be accepted.

In order to qualify for grant assistance from Support Creatives’ Grants for Beauty Professionals Program, the recipient must satisfy each of the following requirements:

  • Be a Hairdresser or Makeup Artist. The Emergency Beauty Support Program defines a “Hairdresser or Makeup Artist” as an individual employed or self-employed in providing beauty services in the Hair and Makeup industry, working in a salon, or at a freelance capacity. An individual is considered “employed” as a Hairdresser or Makeup artist if, for not less than one year prior to the application, the individual performed services as a Hairdresser or Makeup Artist on a regular full- or part-time basis.

  • Must currently not be earning an income

  • Experience a catastrophic event or emergency hardship that is:

  • Identifiable and described in detail in the application;

  • Unusual and not normally occurring in the ordinary course of day-to-day living;

  • Damaging to the person or property (e.g., loss of life, health, or property); or

  • Unexpected, unanticipated, unforeseen, unintended, or unplanned.

  • Lack the necessities of life, including financial, physical, mental, or emotional well-being as a result of the catastrophic event or emergency hardship.

  • Provide supporting documentation of the catastrophic event, emergency hardship, and, or, financial hardship.

  • Be a legal U.S. resident

  • Provide proof of trade (cosmetology license if available, social media handles, any other proof of work).

  • Submit a copy of your driver’s license, state ID or passport.

  • Specify your place of employment, and be able to provide their website address and social media accounts.

Grant recipients will be selected solely on the basis of the eligibility requirements above. Each grant applicant will be pre-screened for compliance with the eligibility and application requirements on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis by Support Creatives Nonprofit staff or other persons designated by the Support Creatives President. All pre-screened and approved applications will be submitted to the Support Creatives Grants Committee for review. Grants will be awarded by the Support Creatives Grants Committee on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis upon reviewing the application and ascertaining any additional facts and circumstances as necessary.

Grant applications will not be denied solely due to the fact that the Hairdresser or Makeup Artists terminated employment after the application was made, regardless of the reason for such termination. Moreover, at the time the grant is awarded, the recipient will in good faith pursue or continue their career path as a Hairdresser and Makeup Artist.

Grants will be made in the form of lump sum distributions to the recipient as determined by the Support Creatives Board based on the selection criteria and available funds. Each grant applicant will be required to provide Support Creatives with documentation that the grant will be used in a manner consistent with the terms of the grant. Although the extent and form of documentation required in connection with a particular distribution will depend on the nature and urgency of the underlying catastrophic event or emergency hardship, preferred documentation will include evidence produced by third parties and used for other purposes, such as police reports, fire department reports, medical prescriptions, receipts, eviction notices, condemnation notices, overdue invoices, other third party affirmations and other similar tangible documentation.

All data is kept confidential and secure.

Support Creatives is thrilled to offer a grant specific to the AAPI Beauty Community. We strive to make the beauty world a safer, better place.
